I have no first-hand knowledge of this company, but I went to her website and it stated that because of their low prices that they do not send bonus plants. I also went to Garden Watchdog and found information about this company. See the link below.

I placed my first order with them this year for delivery next month, can't I don't know about the quality of the plants yet. As farmerbell says, they do not give bonuses and they were sold out of 80% of the daylilies I wanted by the time I got a return phone call (no e-mail orders accepted). But the prices were good on the ones I got, so I have my fingers crossed.

I went through their price list and I did find one or two that were Ok prices. Wild Irish for $75 is pretty good. But, I had purchased maybe 25 or 30 last fall from the auction that were on the price list and I would have paid 3 times more from them, and I bet the plants would be much smaller and less fans...maybe half as many.

Its hard to beat the auction if you have enough experience to know a good deal and how to be selective.

I ordered from her last year and most of what I wanted were sold out. I only got a couple of plants but they were very nice, large, double fans. I ordered from her again this year but placed my order early. All that I wanted she had so am looking forward to receiving them. I would recommend her - good plants for a good price.

Christie's plants are topnotch, but she does not send bonuses. This year she has been out of town alot because of illness in her family. Her husband is handling sales this year. Proceed with caution.

I'd ordered from her twice in the past and got very nice plants. I tried to order last year but after confirming that my plants were in stock phone calls and e-mails were never returned so I ordered elsewhere. I guess from the comments above that family difficulties were the reason.

There were no bonuses but if I recall on the first order, which was over $300, S&H was included. The second order was during a sale and I think I paid a flat rate, which again was less than the actual shipping.

I had good plants from Christie's last year. It was anything 100 dollars or more were shipped free. No bonus though, that's ok as long as I get what I want...Ellie

If anyone is considering ordering from this vendor, you might want to check the Garden Watchdog feedback first.

Good grief, the owner of Christies Daylilies has gone postal over at Garden Watchdog. Guess she really doesnt care about her customers. Thats scary.

The advantage of owning your own business I guess is that you can call a dissatisfied customer an "idiot". I had called Christies several times last year. Once I got no answer, next I got her husband and I could tell that wasn't going to work, then months later I finally got her. The daylily I was interested in she said was no longer available from her (I found it at Marietta). For a daylily newbie that's used to buying lots of other types of plants, these small companies that may or may not answer the phone, return an e-mail or update their websites, but expect you send a check in advance for an order make me nervous. I wish her the best and can't comment on the quality of plants she ships, but for now I'll stick with people I can get ahold of readily. I think her Gardenwatchdog comments just firmed up my decision.

I did receive my order this year, but wasn't overly impressed with the quality of the plants. I chalked it up to bad luck.

After reading the comments on the Watchdog, I'm pleased to send my future orders to many of those nice folks I've dealt with elsewhere (including right here).

I can't believe she told her customer that she didnt need her "little bit" of an order. How incredibly rude to tell someone who spends their hard earned money with them that, like if you dont spend $100, don't bother. Truly an unbelieveable diatribe.

The watchdog comments have now been edited to take out the most hateful comments that she posted. I think thats too bad. I would like to know what kind of person Im dealing with if ordering from her.

I ordered one plant from Christies because it was a special one that I wanted to celebrate an adoption. I got the plant and it was fine, it naturally is on the small side. She did not send a bonus, nor did I expect one; but she did send me more than one personal email regarding the new addition to our family. She also requested a photo which she was going to add to her book. So in my experience with her, she came across as a very nice lady. She was very gracious about my one plant order.

I ordered from her the previous two years and had very satisfactory service. She was very warm and friendly. I think she's been under a lot of stress this last year. That can make someone snap.

I ordered from Christie this year (after a gap of about three years), and I'd order again any time. The plants I received were wonderful. I limited myself almost entirely to a particular hybridizers' plants (Ned Roberts), and I think I got a great deal. In one case, I received a five-fan clump.

Perhaps simplton may be correct, but it really depends on what you're looking for. My clump daylily (KOKOPELLI) hasn't been on the auction in some time; perhaps it hasn't been on the auction at all yet.

If you're disappointed because the plants you wanted were sold out, consider what that means: enough people wanted them, and wanted to buy them from Christie.

The key is to order early. Maybe I shouldn't tell you that, as I want to make sure the plants I want next time are available. :) But seriously, you have to be ready to order fast. Web site's updated....get on the phone asap.

I will also mention that Christie patiently spent a LOT of time on the phone with me. I'd gone over my initial order, but I was having difficulty paring down the list to a semi-sane number of plants. Christie went over what, in her opinion, were the plusses and minuses of the plants on my list; she gave me a list of her own favorites and told me why she liked them....in short, she made the whole process both enjoyable and informative. I should also mention that, while my order was just a teensy bit on the large side , even as she spent time on the phone with me, she had no way of knowing whether I intended to order a large number of plants, or whether I would cut the list down to just a couple.

As to any customer service issues, as shive has said, she has been under a great deal of stress this year. Keep that in mind; after all, you've given allowances to others who have had problems -- and quite recently, too.
