I just noticed this posting, that is cute and some of it is very true. I actually do take a week off every year in late May to do planting. Everyone at work asks me if I'll be planting on my vacation.

I don't think I've pulled weeds at a friend's home, though I did tactfully tell my sister that her hanging basket needed watering, then I volunteered to do it for her (I can't stand to see a plant drooping and suffering, well unless it's a weed, lol)

I can relate to some of the comments above. Although all the plants do not have to be planted in my yard before I will buy more. If the price is right, it will come home with me. I have been known to be an enabler.

You have been gardening too long...or have the addiction real bad when...

You are sitting with friends for a barbeque and all you can think of is wanting to be home instead because of the work that needs to be done in your own yard whether it is the weeding of a certain flowerbed or planting of a perennial that you just bought.

Or, you go to visit someone and in your mind you are planning your friend's landscaping for her and thinking of how nice it would look for a certain perennial you have at home to be also planted in your friend's yard.

You go for a drive through town and you are looking at how others have taken care of their yards. You can't fully understand why some people just couldn't be bothered to even take care of the flowerbeds that are in the front of their house.

When your DH takes over on planting and taking care of the vegetable garden because he realizes that the perennial beds are where you want to spend your time and because they are so large you need to spend your time in them.

People come up to you or phone you and start asking your advice on perennials or plants that they are having a problem with.

You would rather spend your summer vacation in your yard with your blooming flowers than sitting at a lakeside somewhere.

You call up a friend and want to tell them all about the new perennial that is blooming for the first time.
