Well you have lots of time to plan, that's a good thing. Will the actual ceremony be on the farm, too, as well as the reception, and is the arch being used for the ceremony? Is there a colour scheme to follow (brides can be so fussy, LOL).

We had a combination 25th/50th anniversary party at the farm for my folks and my brother & SIL but we concentrated on decorating the quonset, where the party was held. We cut 10' or so poplar trees and put them in 5gal pails of wet sand. I think we did some fancy tinfoil work around the buckets to dress them up a bit, and strung lots of white lights through all those trees. We cut the trees the night before and put them in the wet sand - they held up really well - no wilting thru to Sunday when we dismantled everything. We got newspaper roll ends from the Leader Post and papered the walls about 8' up, then used gold and silver balloons and streamers. I made up a bunch of dried wheat/oats etc arrangements in quart jars for the tables, and votive candles set in canola grain inside pint jars. Then we put together a few very large fresh cut flower arrangements (using big stalks of delphiniums since they were very abundant at the time). I moved my potted plants out to the farm and also borrowed some from a neighbor and we used them at the entrance to the quonset.

Oh, we also rented a portable outdoor toilet and set up a wash station beside it. Lots of borrowed benches surrounded a big firepit (midnight lunch was a wiener roast). It was a pretty casual affair but a great deal of fun.

My niece recently got married at my parents farm, the ceremony was held on 'the high bank' that overlooks the river valley. Lovely setting, lots of big trees & blue sky... The decorations were simple there, just a few baskets of flowers sitting around and carpet for the bride to walk down the isle between the rows of folding chairs.
However, at the reception (held at the local community hall) there was a wedding arch over the entrance. It was twined with yards & yards & yards of white tule that pooled at the base of the arch. It was tied in places with bunches of gerbera daisies & baby's breath. They had tons of mini-lights inside the tule & it looked spectacular! The lights likely wouldn't be quite so wonderful in broad daylight, but in the evening it would be lovely.

Sorry we don't have any pictures of it, the camera got put away when the party started.

YES, The ceremony is at the yard, the arch is for the ceremony. The reception and dance will be at our local hall but there is a social hour at the yard for an hour between the ceremony and the reception. Also gift opening is at the yard on Sunday. She picked a pretty soft aqua blue color for the bridesmaids dreses no flowers in that color but should be able to us pinks and whites.This is probably the least unfussiest bride you can imagine.Thank goodness.Has any one got some pictures of a wedding at home in the garden/
