rats/mice

I don't know what I was hoping for. Anything that eats through the new screening material has to have pretty good teeth. Called the exterminator and the rescreen guy already. Thanks.

Only reason I know this is because I had them too when I had plants within the pool enclosure. I figured I had it made, no more birds and other animals getting the fruits. WRONG!

In my case, and it seems many others too, the rats bite two holes on opposite sides of the enclosed area.

Before rescreening I would set some large traps and solve the problem before repairing the damage.

Tree rats too, also known as squirels.

A rat can eat through heavy screening. Some years ago we had one that would get into the screened-in porch virtually night by eating through the screen. Put up heavier screening-it still got through. Put double layers of heavy screen over the holes-it still got through. Finally, one day I caught it on the porch and "dispatched" it.

When I had bird feeders in my yard, I kept the tub of seed on my screened patio. The squirrels finally got smart and figured out where the food came from. I took the food out of the patio, but eventually took the feeders down because they attracted too many rats (who crawled around at night and hung out in the feeders....EW!!).

Finally had the patio re-screened!

You guys are too nice! A few D-Con rat pellets work great! I'd never give up my precious birds for a "dirty rat"!

I have these snake birds with long necks landing on top of my Lanie and then pooping all o er the screen its so hard to wash off how can i stop them from landing on top and doing their thing?
