Picea abies (Norway Spruce)

Unusual to get cones on a witch's broom

Resin

it has been suggested that you should grow all seeds from WB cones.. as a certain percentage will be dwarf like the WB ... is that correct...

and answer me this ... who climbed the tree and got the pix???

and exactly how sane was that???? .... lol .... i will presume adrenaline had something to do with it... lol

ken

Thanks Resin.

Ken,
It will be interesting to hear whether the seed produces a percentage of dwarf plants or not. I have not heard that yet. That would be a bonus.

Jan makes it look so easy. As for the climber lets just say adrenaline and psychosis had something to do with it. Its a lot easier going up than coming down in a controlled manner.

Hi, nice witch, picea abies of course, I am ready to go for it, where is it ?
99 % seeds from witch´s broom are sterile, or cones are without seeds, but sometimes you can obtain marvelous and stable dwarf conifer.
Some picture of my witch with too many cones are here...
Next spring I am ready to go for it.
/Siska in czech language is cone, sisak - witch with to many cones/

Jan, the broom is in Michigan USA.
I sent you a couple emails over the last week or so.
Did you receive any?
