Love it! Beach houses end up with lots of sand in them so take that into account. I do a sisal rug and would hand paint or stencil it myself. You could incorporate yellow or orange into the color scheme or maybe a lighter blue like turquoise.

I'd do the table above and use the chairs for double duty, 2 on either side of the couch facing each other and a wicker glass topped coffee table (square) in the center.
That rug was simply painted by applying green painters tape one direction and adding it other directions. You could make your own compass rose design with a little effort.

With that gorgeous rug, you'll want a glass topped coffee table, and I'd need to know your room dimensions to recommend a size for you.

I'd do one end table and put a floor lamp at the other end of the sofa. Put an interesting round table between the two chairs. Perhaps this one: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/ginger-salt-side-table/s136029 It's one of my favorites and would be perfect for a beach house!

Add teal and lime pillows to your sofa, and have fun collecting other accessories along life's road.

That is a rug that a person painted on pinterest and the design was one they made with green painters tape. I thought it was pretty cool, I pinned it.

I have a similar dilemma - trying to do a relaxed, summery beach-style room with light sandy colours to work with other areas in the house which are a bit more 'traditional jamaican' (ie some dark wood furniture with white walls etc and some lime green feature walls). We just bought a similar textured sofa and gave up trying to find a fabric armchair to work with it... we are currently looking for a natural hide-coloured leather armchair for the man of the house, which will blend with the one antique bookcase in that room and the dark curtain rails. Everything else is whites, sands and creams so it should be a nice contrast. I think I'll then bring some lime green into the cushions and maybe some of that lovely yellow like on the rug in the photo above. Best thing about going leather is that you have a greater range to choose from so you can get the perfect comfy swivel chair... It's also a compromise in my house because my husband couldn't care less what the decor was, so as long as he has a man chair he likes, he lets me do what I want!

Joannacarson. I know this is an old post but wondering if you ever got the leather swivel chairs for your beach style home. I am considering the same thing for my living room area – wondering how Leather chairs will hold up. Even though I certainly hope that people don't sit on the furniture with wet bathing suit's or suntan lotion onI don't want to have to be the seat patrol lady ! I want the home to be relaxing, and casual.
