Fig tree cutting care

Hey everyone, I am new to the forum here but have really enjoyed reading all the helpful information I have found thus far. I recently decided to make a bunch of cuttings from all the different fruit trees around my house. Having absolutely no idea what I was doing, I tired a bunch of various techniques regarding amount of sunlight, size of cutting and water amount. It has been under three weeks so far I believe and the only one that seems to be going anywhere is one of the figs, which is what I was rooting for (pun intended). It has been in complete direct sunlight and has no drainage in the pot and therefore the soil around it is complete slop. However it has budded five tiny leaves and seems to be doing great. However I am scared that the lack of drainage is going to rot it away and I am suprised that, that particular cutting worked. However, because it is doing so good, at the same time, I don't want to fix what ain't broken. My question is when should I move it to a proper pot and what should be the normal water procedure. Also any general advice on fig cuttings would be great as well, as I would like to do more. I am on the border of zone 15 and 17 as well. Thanks a bunch for your help and appreciate any and all advice.
