I live where the humidity level is very low, most of the time, and I have never misted mine. They do not have browning tips. I just keep them damp and they are happy. They are really happy now that the temps have moderated from the 100's to the 80's. I suspect the misting is the problem. Hope someone else has ideas on this.

I just want to point out that the tips were browning before I started misting. I suspected low humidity and tried misting but it hasn't helped.

I too had this problem. It's from the air being too dry. Misting to raise humidity is very ineffective,The humidity is only raised for the time the leaves are wet. So basically if you mist twice a day and the leaves stay wet for 30 minutes, that's still 23 hrs a day with low humidity.Do what I did put him in the kitchen..... No more brown leaf tips! HTH
