My husband and I have recently moved into a new home and while I love it, I am having a very hard time trying to decide how best to furnish it and divide the space.

Briefly, it is a 2500 sqr ft townhome and the main floor is one large space - kitchen with adjoining eating area, large island, big open area which would traditionally be a living room and dining room.

I have a one year old and a three year old and want the space to be comfortable for my family yet also stylish. I also find the idea of having two dining areas in such an open area a little bit of a waste as I am sure there are so many unique ideas of how I could make the area more useful. Does anyone have any good ideas or photos for inspiration.
