Need help identifying this Geraniacea

We have had this plant for several years. We don't let it die back. It blooms outdoors in the Summer and indoors in the Winter. It died back once in the Spring when we let it get to cold.

It has round lobed leaves from one to two inches in diameter on one to four inch tapered bracts. The five-petaled flowers are bright red.

I think that it is a Pelargonium commonly sold as a geranium. I think it is a very common variety, but I don't know.

I think that they are very popular in Southern Europe and the Middle East.

Can anyone tell me what it really is?
