Killed another wisteria

I planted an amethyst wisteria from HD a few years ago. Last fall, I noticed that one of the large branches had broken off at the base and was dead, so I remove it. And now this spring it appears that the only other branch is also dead :( I must be the only person in North Georgia that can't keep a wisteria alive. This is the 2nd one that I've planted that lasted a year or two and then just died. I kept it nicely watered through the drought years and last year we had lots of rain. It bloomed really nicely last year too. I don't know what killed it.

Any suggestions on other wisteria cultivars I can try. I don't want the invasive one.
