you know, this guy up north of here did the coolest thing i've seen in a long time - he setup a solar panel, and tied it to a motion-activated water sprinkler. He hung a 5-gallon bucket filled with water from a nearby post. the solar cell store power to run the water pump, i believe. if anything came near his plot, the sprinkler would turn on and run them off. the 5gal bucket would refill when it rains.

What do you consider to be 'devil's claws'? Is that a plant or a product?

If it's a plant, I know of no plant that will keep deer out. There are plants that they are "less fond of", but not one that repels them.

I know, we're all looking for that miracle solution! I have had some luck spraying "Liquid Fence" and other smelly products. Good luck.
