I moved here from Illinois almost 3 years ago. Gotta love this GA clay huh? But I love the variety of plants we can grow here. Welcome, this is a great forum and the warmth of the people on this site constantly amazes me. Everyone is always willing to take the time to help. Oh and be sure to try and get to the plant trade in the fall. They are great.

Wisconsin, huh? Welcome! If you haven't discovered it already, autumn may just be the best gardenening season of the year, and you can enjoy having a garden right up to whenever hard frost finally hits in your area.

I came here from Florida 13 years ago, and you couldn't drag me away now. Had to basically learn to garden all over again, though. Can't get much different from clay than FL sand. I'm in Dacula, and just learning about roses these last few years also.

Hi Everyone,
It's interesting to see so many people have transplanted to Georgia. I originally came from New England (gravel & Loam)and then lived in Florida (sand) and will be living in Central Georgia (clay)by the end of June. It should be very interesting to see just what I can grow in my new Georgia garden.
One of the things that I like about Georgia is the "real" grass, very different from Florida's grass that grows by runners and is so tough it hurts your bare feet.
I hope to be in touch with y'all as I become a Georgia gardener.
