I have a confederate jasmine I planted several years ago (6 or so). It never blooms. the leaves are dark green and crisp. It is very woody.

Why? Not enough sun? Its next to a giant river birch.

Well yesterday I noticed that there is a vine that has nice bright green soft leaves on it that appears to have grown from the general direction of my jasmine.

Is this an offshoot?

This healthy vine is tangled up in the bottom branches of my river birch and I am worried it will cause damage long term. The loss of the river birth would be devastating due to its size (20 ft or so) and prominant location in front of my house.

Should I cut it out?

Should I dig up the whole plant and move it?

The vine is kind of big and has lots of old shoots.

How would I go about doing this without killing it?
