Never had any interest in growing it, but it should grow in Georgia especially at higher elevations. More common names are Walking Stick cabbage, Jersey kale, Walking Stick kale. Seeds are hard to find in the US but all the UK vendors carry them them.

We have one growing in Zone 8 in GA. We ordered three starts online from Bountiful Gardens. Squirrels dug up two of them, but we've managed to keep one alive for over a year now. It's about 3 feet tall.
