My new home (I will move into shortly) has amazing cherry floors throughout most of the house. The bedrooms (one on the main floor and two upstairs) are carpeted and have only a subfloor underneath. I assume this was done for cost reasons originally. I cannot have carpet due to allergies and I am wondering if I can put down a different style/color floor or if I should keep it all the same. I love the cherry but thought it might be more fun and more interesting to switch it up in the bedrooms. The transitions from the floor to the carpet are cherry so I wonder if this will look ridiculous. What do you think designers?!
