Ps but before staining if it is a soft wood don't forget conditioner

American wallnut comes out good , one of my favourites .

Match a gray that is in the stone. Experiment with 3 paint chips of gray: light, medium, dark . Buy 2 small containers: light and dark gray. Use light & dark and mix some together for the medium, to see what shade is best for the room in natural & artificial light. I think the pink streaks will repeat the oak nicely.
