Hi all,

I have a very small, shady (giant oak tree above) back garden that is separated from my neighbors by only a chain link fence. I'd like to find a plant that is fast-growing, low maintenance, and thin/narrow to act as sort of a living fence. I was thinking of bamboo, but that can look sort of messy and need lots of water. Then I was thinking of a holly, but I don't know if it would get enough sun. Cedar / arborvitae would be a little big.

Does such a beast exist?
