I love my neighbors cat, but I think she either killed or ran off the bird that had a nest on the post of my porch. I found her out there one night and after seeing flies in the nest box and taking it down and finding a dead chick (plus some orange cat hair on the outside...) I asked if she would keep her in the house at least during bird nesting season.

Plus her cat drives my cats crazy. Mine stay inside or in the fenced in yard.

Sugarhill, there is an "obliviate" in my area. He "gardens" through his weeds and his house is a disgusting mess. Never cuts anything back, flower or weed. Stuff grows all over the sidewalk (other gardeners seem to get citations to keep it cut back, he never does). Worst of all he lets his dog run all over and crap all over neighbours gardens. Both while he is "walking" (meaning standing around) with his dog, talking to neighbours with his dog...or all over our church gardens and property. He never picks up the dog crap.
Finally I got really cheezed off with him. It takes a LOT to make me fly off the handle. I freaked out because it's enough for us to have to take care of all our disabled people at church. I don't have time to pick up someone elses dog crap when I'm worried about a human ... so I let him have it. He had not one iota he was being a total jerk. Completely oblivious.
So tell your neighbour. I'd probably be nicer than I was, personally, but tell them that their dog should not be on your private property thank-you very much and explain what damage it did. The guy I yelled at didn't even realize that it is not very nice to have to mow over fresh dog crap!!
You have the right to ask people to keep their pets off of your property. I have a cat that roams quite a distance although I try to keep her in our yard. I would certainly respect anyone who asked me to keep our cat out of their yard. Luckily everyone loves her chipmonking and rat killing abilities!

GGG, thanks for idea (and I love the word obliviate - it describes him perfectly). I don't mind if he brings the dog by when he's walking her. I like the dog a lot. All I'm asking is that he retract her lead from 20 ft to 6 feet so she can't roam so much. I'll ask him again before I tell him no more visits with Biscuit. But you got to know that this about him. His wife came home one evening last week and asked him where his car was. He said it was in the driveway and she said no it's not. He didn't even stick his head out the door to look. He just assumed she was mistaken. His car had rolled out of the driveway, across a neighbor's yard and 200 feet into the woods before it landed in a ditch. And he didn't find it out until he went out the next morning to get in his car. So I don't have a lot of hope about getting him to listen.

Sugarhill, that is crazy that he didn't even know his car rolled across a neighbor's yard! The least you can do is hope and try. Maybe he chose not to listen to his wife because she's his wife...sometimes people are more responsive to people they're not so close to (or even total strangers). Good luck.
