How Does One Get Rid of Pompas Grass?

My friend has a HUGE one in her front yard. They're wanting to do some work in the yard....but would like to totally eliminate this thing. They tried cutting it down....it grew back. They've tried digging it up...but that turned into a huge chore! lol

Any ideas? They want it GONE!!!

Glyphosate (RoundUp) will probably kill it, but it'll still have to be dug.

You might try offering it to someone who wants to dig & divide it for transplant.

I dug up 'hardy pampas' last fall- dug out every root I could get- some had gone under the foundation!
and left the bare hole and any unseen roots to the -20 weather over the winter. It was an eyesore when the plant was there-is an eyesore with it gone but it is gone!I need to put a nice grass in there soon.

Those danged Pompas (gr)asses! How dare they?!

My dad burned his down, along with the fence. The pampas grass came back, the fence didn't.
