Too late to start pumpkins?

Is it too late to start pumpkins? I have seedlings indoors right now (each one in its own starter pod). We are having a huuuuuge heat wave so I am hesitant to move them out yet. But is it too late in the season for my zone? I have chucky and baby bear varieties.

You sure can't let them grow in your house. It is late, but I'd say put them out and pray for a late frost.

No--definitely not staying in the house!! I think it is going to get a bit cooler this week. We often have a late frost, but you can't ever tell. I've put covers over my plants in the past to protect from frost. Maybe that will help.
