about 4 years ago, I planted 5 small lilacs. You know all us transplanted Yankees have to plant lilacs. Even though they are growing well and are about 3 ft high now, I have little hope of them blooming.

A few weeks ago, I noticed some buds, but thought they were just new leaves because of the recent rain. But today I saw a small clump of purple flowers on one. The scent is amazing. I checked and two of the others also have what appear to be flower buds.

What a strange year!
