They're eating my bulbs

Those little nasty varmits....chipmunks. I spent 5 hours planting bulbs on Saturday (I have about 500 in all). Yesterday, I noticed that there were empty holes where some bulbs had been planted. This morning I saw a chipmunk.

So, today I want to Home Depot and bought bird netting. I'm going to rade away the pine straw, lay the neeting (anchored with rocks or whatever, and then recover with pine straw. I hope this works.

You might have seen a chipmunk but I would suspect voles. Google voles just in case you have this more serious problem.

I googled pictures of voles and chipmunks and it was definitely a chipmunk.

I also have moles....just sprayed the lawn to kill the grups. They're tearing up my yard.

You want to rent my cat? Haven't had voles, mice, rats, squirrels, or one poor Guinea Pig(where he got that I'll never know, nor will I ask) live to tell how tastey my plants were.

One reason squirrels dig bulbs is for moisture when there hasn't been any rain. I keep water in dishes for them and the birds. They have left my bulbs alone. Maybe I have just been lucky, but something stopped them.
