Don't ya just love 'em?

I was wandering around the yard today, and happily surprised by all the plants that are standing up to the cold weather we've been having. They aren't just surviving, they are looking good! I never expected to be so happy after a garden walk in December.

One of my evergreen faves is Hellebore. They have been really showing their stuff this year. The Winter Daphne I bought in spring is also looking great. The Dracaena my mom told me was an annual is looking great, too (in a pot!) What are some of your tough favorites?

Mostly the usual stuff for me. The hellebores are looking good, but I think it's about time to get out there and trim off the old ugly leaves and let the new growth come out. Of course anything everygreen; azaleas, rhodedendrons, ligularia, loropetalums, cast iron plants, etc...

The one plant that's really catching my attention right now is the variegated alstroemeria. It pretty much disappeared during the summer, but is looking gorgeous right now. I think it may be time to divide it and have it in several different spots in the yard.
