Help, we live in the northwest and we just moved in three months ago. Summer days provided light into the late evenings but with fall approaching our days are becoming shorter and we need lighting suggestions for the kitchen. With the open beam ceiling we're not able to put in overhead fixtures (that we're aware of anyway). We're stumped for ideas. Our kitchen is rather small and has only one track lighting system over the window sink area. We seem to dance around the kitchen while cooking or prepping food just to avoid cast shadows. We had an idea to put up another track lighting system on the opposite wall hoping to cover the refrig and stove areas but even then nothing seems to light up the island area.
