I have some old roses, rosa mundi and autumn damask, that I would like to make rose water from this summer.

I read about several different methods of doing it, but am wondering if anyone here has ever successfully done it themselves. The method I would like to try is the brick-in-a-big pot method, using a crockpot for the big pot.

Would a crockpot get too hot to work?
