My verigated lemon thyme withstood the cold, but we're zone 7.

I planted some variegated lemon thyme a few years ago. It has gone through my winters without issue. I have harvested a bit here & there during the winter. Even without snow cover, the plant-covered stems (closest to the ground) are often still green through the winter. Such a delightful plant!

Yes, thyme is very cold hardy HOWEVER if you just bought one from HD it was probably raised in a greenhouse or further south so it is probably NOT hardened off. Please be careful this time of year in getting plants. Its very exciting to see the beautiful new plants in the store but if they look significantly further along than other plants in your region its because they were trucked in from further south and are NOT regional. You'll need to protect them for a bit until they get used to the new zone.

Mine saw 5 below zero this winter and is still looking ok, except is got all purple leaves nw.

Lemon thyme survived my zone 5 garden, but not here in my current zone 4. English thyme is more cold hardy in my opinion. In your zone, I don't see any issues. Enjoy it :)

We are zone 3 near Glacier Park and we get -30° so ee mulch with straw and it returns every year
