separating herb seedlings

I'm a first year herb grower from seed and have a couple questions.

First of all can I separate my parsely and sage seedlings that have germinated in the same cell? I do this with tomatoes with no problem and I did it with the basil seeds I started and it worked.

Secondly, the thyme and oregano seedlings are very small and fragile looking. Are they supposed to grow so slow? Should I pot them up out of the the starter cells to get them going. Should I use a little diluted liquid fertilizer.

Finally, in addition to starting indoors, I direct seeded thyme, sage, oregano, parsely and chives. Do these respond ok to direct seeding?

Thanks,

Pete
