The most common trick is to treat it like a larger window and do drapery like its centered. But whats adding to making it seem off kliter are the varying sizes of the furniture. If you cant buy new lamps, switch the sides they are on or swicth the night stands

Would the bed fit on an angle in left corner? I assume it does not fit on any other wall. Large bed for smaller room.

At the moment I cannot switch the night stands but was thinking that pendant lamps might help.

Fabric wall to wall panels could help.

Hi -- Why can't you have the head of the bed on either the left or right wall and not on the window wall ,which I think you should fill with full drapes ceiling to floor and wall to wall.

The small shelf unit on the right side - try moving it to the opposite wall, lose the nightstand on the left, move the bed further left and put the remaining nightstand under the window with the lamp that has the larger shade.

Can you shift the bed to the right and put the shelves on the left? Go for and extra large and wide window treatment behind the headboard that gives the illusion of a wider window.

Here is a photo of the same bed in our last house. The width of the wall was the same as in our new house. However, the window was far enough over that it did not encroach on the headboard.

We cannot change the position of the bed (save for a few inches to the right) because the wall across from the bed has a door to the bathroom in it. The perpendicular walls are too short to accommodate the headboard and nightstands. The bed cannot be moved further to the right because there is a bureau on the right perpendicular wall. No matter where I shift the bed on its current wall I will still just have a narrow, somewhat off center window, behind it.

Flip your nightstands to opposite sides of bed, move bookcase and dresser to wall where framed prints are leaning. I believe you are shooting photo from doorway. Don't know where your closet is.

These small changes will allow you to shift the bed over at least 2 feet to the right. Shift the lamps with the nightstands like Larry says and then cover the headboard wall with drapery across 2/3 of the wall centering the window behind the headboard. This disguises the size of the window and leaves 1/3 of the wall for a beautiful print you see as you come in the door.

An extra large mirror above the dresser can help to bounce more light in the room if that is the only window. Good luck.

I like elisearge2's idea. Another idea take the bombay chest out of the room and keep the small night stand on the side to left of window, then get a smaller more rectangular shaped table for the right side of the bed. It's possible the bombay chest could still work if the two pieces of furniture are switched. Use the wall hung lamp like in your old room and the smaller lamp that you have now on the left side of the bed.
