Allspice Berries Viable?

I dearly savor Carribean jerk seasoning and make my own using some fresh ingredients that I grow like the scotch bonnet peppers and thyme. But among the main ingredients is allspice (or as its called locally in the islands, Pimento). I buy the whole berries or "corns" and grind them as they have more taste this way rather than using prepared powder (just like black pepper). I'm wondering if these berries will come up if planted? Is this a viable seed or an immature berry that been picked and dried before fully developing? Anybody know?

Thanks,

JPool
