Yes, it's easy. Best to choose a heel cutting. Once you've done that, poke the cut end in a little pure honey, then into a hole in some potting mix, water it in, and Bob's your uncle.

Here is a link that might be useful: heel cuttings

According to Thomas DeBaggio, author of Growing Herbs, the best time to take lavender cuttings is spring when the new tender growth roots readily. He suggests taking a cutting of new spring growth (green stem), stripping the leaves very carefully from the bottom half of the cutting, dipping it in rooting hormone (or not, he isn't sure if it helps, but it can't hurt) and placing it in either damp sterile starting mix or a damp potting soil (without fertilizer in it). Mist and cover (I use clear plastic bottles with the cap off, but a clear plastic bag does well, also). Keep the cuttings in a shaded, fairly cool environment and after about two weeks, check for resistance when you GENTLY lift one of the cuttings. Resistance indicates rooting. Depending on the plant, the size of the cutting, weather, etc. you may have to wait a month or more for good root development. Be patient! After the roots are pretty well established you can transplant to a larger individual pot, usually a 4" pot is adequate. Grow until you feel it is safe to transplant into the ground--weather and size of plant determining the safety of transplant time.
Now you know more than you ever wanted to know about propagating lavender. Fortunately this method works with most herbs! Good luck with your new plants.

marlingardener-Great to see you have gotten so much out of my father's book. Now you are teaching others, he would be so proud.
