Yes, upright rosemaries flower. I don't think fertiliser will make it do so. Some are more floriferous than others. If the plant looks happy just leave it alone and wait. It'll flower if and when it wants to.

Rosemary rarely flowers in general, so don't hold your breath.

My rosemary flowers in the very early spring. It didn't do this its first couple of years, but since maturity it flowers every spring and then flowers at irregular intervals through the late summer/autumn. Mine has white flowers. I don't fertilize it, and its is grown outdoors in the ground. I'm guessing that it is an Arp since it is making it thru the winters here.

My prostrate rosemary flowers in late winter/very early spring and occasionally off & on through late summer. The upright variety has never flowered that I'm aware of.

It could also have something to do with the variety. My Tuscan Blue blooms with beautyful blue flowers.

Our upright Rosemary is six years old. It did not flower for the first three years. (I grew it from seed.) It flowers each spring now, but only on previous years growth, not the old wood. I prune in Spring after flowering, otherwise it would take over the herb garden. I have never fertilized this plant. Maybe yours is still just a little young to flower?

They also flower more freely in full sun, and in general they like good ventilation and plenty of room. They can be a little fussy about watering. Hold off on chemical fertilizers and work a little bone meal, which is a high-phosphorus slow-release organic fertilizer, into the soil around them.

My upright rosemary is 5 yrs old and had three blooms this year--first ever! It is a happy, healthy plant...just no flowers. Now, my wild rosemary blooms like I'm giving it a dollar for every flower...

My Rosemary tree/bush is dropping seeds and looks all dry in the middle of all the leaves is this normal or is it dying. Not had very long I've got it inside as I don't have a garden and wanted to grow to be used fresh in cooking please can anyone help me. Thank you.

Any chance of a picture? Dropping seeds doesn't sound very Rosemary-like. Especially not for one being grown indoors.

Not dropping seeds.....looks like there may be some dried remains of old flowers on the upper portion and this is probably what it is shedding. But it is also dying. Dry and brown foliage is pretty indicative of what a rosemary will do indoors with insufficient light and overly hot, dry conditions. Rosemary just does not make a very successful houseplant even under ideal circumstances. And this doesn't look even close to ideal.

Is this plant trained as a standard?

Nicki, where do you live? If it is at all possible your rosemary would be much better off outside. If your winter is too harsh then you need to put your plant into the coldest place you can find short of outside and give it as much light as you can. In addition your rosemary looks very thirsty.
