Parsley pests question

Hi

I have 2 parlsey plants growing in a window box which have been doing great. I don't really do much to the plants apart from give them a spray of water if it's been dry and hot.

Recently we have had a bit of a wet spell in the UK. The parsley seemed to flourish and has been growing at a rate.

However the other day I noticed a load of what I can only describe as 'flecks of saw dust' all over the soil and creeping up the stalks of the plants (one more than the other).

Now there seems to be an infestation of tiny green pests covering the stalks of the new shoots at the base of the plant. I'm not sure if they are related to the saw dusty flecks.

Do any parsley heads know what might be going on here? And is there any action I should take to deal with these pests.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
