Canning peaches, how much ascorbic acid?

I've got a great crop of peaches this year and getting ready to can them. I've read a lot of good information about that here, but cannot find how much ascorbic acid to add. I have powdered ascorbic acid, 1 teaspoon equals approx. 1000 mg. I plan to use a very light syrup, 10-1/2 c. water to 1-1/2 c. sugar, enough for 7 quart BWB. Do I add the acid to the syrup as I hot pack the peaches, and how much? Thank you.
