Pls help ID herb from description

I can take a picture, but hoping you can help ID from description.

This herb:

Has crinkled leaves, almost as if you put it through one of those hair crimpers from the 1980's.

has leaves which grow in a rosette pattern from the center.

sends up a single flower spike abour 3 feet tall. It really doesn't produce a "flower" per se, but more of a greenish/yellow spike.

has a mat of white, fairly shallow roots but needs to be contained in a pot or else will probably spread fairly aggressively.

is not a "common" herb, like basil or rosemary or dill or thyme.
