My anise over-wintered and is now taller than me,with small yellow flowers. Dog treats or any other uses would be appreciated.

Why do you want to feed it to your dogs? It does have veterinary uses (see below) but should only be administered under the supervision of a veterinarian because it can slow down the metabolism.

Powdered seeds were once used in "condition" pills for horses. Used for colic and digestive problems in animals. Used in health-formula puppy foods for weaning pups.

Yes apparently dogs are at least attracted to Anise. However the only use i have come across is using essence in either dog treats or homemade toys

Aniseed is said to either have a calming effect or a stimulating one on your dog. It depends on your dog. It is safe to give to your dog in moderation for a fun day of play or to relax them during a particularly stressful time. I would mix few seeds in their food or a treat or just sprinkle on their toy to see how your dog reacts to it. Some dogs aren't affected much at all, but they still enjoy the licorice/ minty scent and taste. Keep in mind Aniseed is not the same as Star Anise. I've seen people make that mistake with their dogs.
