Parsley

I planted curly leaf parsley in my garden last year, and it (surprisingly) came back this year. It's flowering, and I'm not sure what to do with it. I have read on this forum that it will reseed itself, but I'm not sure if I'm in a warm enough zone for this to work. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd like to be able to use the parsley this year for cooking, so edible leaves are more important to me than seedlings next year.

Sure enough. You have answered your question about returning after a winter. Trim th leave you need, and that could be up to 1/3-1/2 the plant.

Remember that since this is its second year, it will soon go to seed, and the leaves will have a much more coarse flavour. Let it happen, and harvest while you can. Meantime, get another plant for the leaves. Soon, you'll have a constant supply, year to year.

Thanks! I'm going to let it go to seed and just get another plant. Either that, or just live with flat leaf parsley only for the summer.
