I'm still can't find much information on this one. I bought a pot of Keeled Garlic/ Winter Chives about 8 or 9 years ago at a herb farm, the herb farm has since changed hands. I asked the new owners about this allium, no help there, they have never heard of it. When I bought it I was told it could be used like chives in the winter when most chives are dormant.

Is anyone growing this one, only as an ornamental or do you use it as a culinary herb? It's a spreader so I grow it in containers and deadhead as soon as the flowers start to look ragged. I have yet to use it as a substitute for chives, a little more information would be nice.
