santolina

The santolina in the herb garden is not happy this year. I had three santolina virens (green santolina) which were several years old. One of them - of course the MIDDLE one - did not survive the winter. The other two came back strong, but slowly began to brown our, dry up and give up the ghost. I eventually replaced one later in the season and the replacement isn't going to make it either. On top of that, the gray santolina which was waaaay over on the other side of the herb garden, about 40' away is doing the same thing. We've had a TON of rain in my part of NJ this year. Do you think that's the culprit or is something else at work here?
