Check the hardiness zone of the location as well as the heat zone, which will probably be more important in Florida. Research what plants would do well in those zones and then find the vendor the offers those seeds.

My 2 favorite herb seed/plant vendors are Horizon Herbs & Richters. But depending upon what you are looking for, there are many other vendors.

You can grow most herbs (from seed) anywhere, as long as you pay attention to the time of year. Check in with your local Florida extension office to get information about planting dates, first and last expected frost dates, etc. In other words, there aren't Florida herbs....just herbs that will thrive in Florida as long as you plant them at the right time of year.

(Of course, this is not true of some perennials, trees, and woody shrubs. Say goodby to lilacs, for example.)

You'll have a big learning curve, but if you approach your new environment with an open mind, you'll feel anything but limited in what you can grow.

Spoken from someone who has lived in Central NY, Michigan, Virginia, SC, and northern Alabama. It's ALL about understanding the climate.
