Basil dead?

19 years ago

I had a big healthy basil plant in with my container tomato. A week ago, something dug it up and just left it there on top of the soil. I found it a day or two later and replanted it, but it still looks wilty. Will it ever come back or is it a goner? I was really looking forward to some home-grown dried basil this year.

My guess is that it was squirrels. Destroying things seems to be second nature to them.
