Heirloom arugula

The heirloom arugula I have are now flowering (yellow flowers) at the top of the plants.....however the leaves which have not been harvested seem to have morphed into stick like structures which appear to be long thin (possibly) seedpods...

...

Any thoughts?

Wait until the seeds mature and save the seeds to sow next season. That is the beauty of heirloom vegetables.

Arugula is in the Brassica family so it has 4-petaled flowers and small pea-like seed pods. The seeds are ready when the pods are dry and start to split/are easy to split open. Seeds should be brown not green when collecting.

So are you saying that those long thin morphed leaves ARE seedpods? Usually one sees flowers first and then those turn into seeds.
