Asking for Discounts?

Have any of you ever asked for "volume discounts" from a Hosta seller that doesn't post them on their website? I'll be making a pretty large purchase ($800+ from one vendor?) and would hate to skip good suppliers just because they don't post discounts.

If you DID ask, did you have any luck?

If you don't ask, you'll never get. I'd like to think that with an order that size they'd be foolish not to throw you a bone. If I were in your shoes I'd give them the order WITHOUT payment information, so they know exactly what they're dealing with, and give them an idea what sort of discount you're looking for. Tell them you will confirm the order, with payment details, when you receive their positive response.
