Mango Melon or Vine Peach

Has anyone ever done these?

For those that don't know, it's a wild melon, Cucumis melo var. chito - they are tiny little fruits, bigger than a golf ball and smaller than a tennis ball. They have a yellow rind and are mostly seeds. Flesh is white, and has a sweet-tart taste, sort of cucumbery and sort of melony.

I grew them this year just to see what they are like. They did pretty well, and I picked maybe 1/3rd of a grocery bag full of ripe ones.

I processed them last night, and boiled them with sugar, a little lemon juice into a jam/preserve.

While the flavor is pretty good, not at all unpleasant, I don't think I would bother with them again for the simple reason that, once you get rid of the rind and seeds, you have maybe a tablespoon of flesh from each one. So, not very practical. But it was a fun experiment just to see what they did.
