It's April 19th, and at 8:30 this morning, our hummingbird feeder saw its first customer of the season. Welcome back Hummers!!! Lancaster, Pennsylvania!!!

Jack, it's very common to have to wait to see hummers. You got lucky last year! Wait a couple more weeks, keep the nectar changed and fresh, and there's no question you'll have regular visitors. And out west you'll have several species to watch! Well worth the wait.

I am sure you will see them soon. I have feeders out year round and see them as such. I am south of you in So Orange County. They will come!

Last weekend I found out I have earlier risers. I was out around 6:00 am cleaning the feeders when I was buzzed several times. For the past week I have been watching them while getting ready for work. By 7:00 am they seem to be gone for they day.

Just put out first batch of nectar in NEPA! Its up to the hummers now if they can handle the cooler weather. It will be there at their arrival.

Nice photos and garden . I also have the jewelbox but gave up on it, practically useless as far as hummers go. I mainly use the first nature 16 oz , pp209 glass , also have a hummzinger excel. I also have several of those one port feeders. I dont have a have alot of good pics of my garden from last year . You might want to take a look at this vid which show hummers and some of my garden.
