Hummingbird Garden

Cape Fuchsia 'Devil's Tears'

I stopped by K-Mart yesterday and they had 'Devel's Tears' in gallon size for only 3.99. They seem to have quite a bit of nectar in the flowers so I'm hoping it will be a good hummingbird plant. Also hoping I can winter it over in my garage. Any tips?

Now I've read that they're hardy to zone 7 so I'm wondering if I might be able to winter it over in the ground instead of my garage. I removed a couple suckers that have their own roots and potted them up. Also found some seedlings coming up in the pot that I re-potted but they may just be weeds. It's too soon to tell.
Here's the description at Forestfarm.com which says they're attracted to hummingbirds so I'm anxious to try it out.
