Need help before planting presents

I got my husband a Guava, a star blueberry and a Kiwi from the local Walmart.....They came from dewar nursery in Apopka, but I tried that site I don't know the kind of Guava...was curious before planting them what special things I might need to know..Should we wait until March to get them in the ground? Does anyone grow them? Are the cold/hot hardy? I know fruit likes sun...but Florida sun is so different from normal sun LOL....I am looking for Central Fl. growers of these fruits to chime in with some tips...All information is helpful! janine

I'm not familiar with guavas. I have a blueberry in partial sun. I think both the blueberries and the kiwi will take full sun. After all commercial growers have their blueberries in fields that get full sun. Blueberries like acid fertilizer I use azealea food, but I found out there is a special food for them. My friend had to get the store to special order it for her.

When ever you need info, check the UF site:
    Soultionsforyourlife.com

Enter- Blueberry Gardener's Guide- in the search box and it will take you right to what you need.

Not so lucky on the Kiwi information. From UF:
There are many problems with growing kiwifruit in Florida. The first is kiwifruit grows naturally at altitudes between 2,000 and 6,500 ft., most of Florida is at or below sea level. Ideal winter temperatures are 40 to 57 degrees with summer temperatures no higher than 77 degrees. During the winter, if temperatures fluctuate between warm and cold, blossom drop can occur which will reduce fruit production. The fruit is produced on "female" vines and requires a "male" vine for pollination.

Plenty of info on Guavas. Check each result from the search for articles with photos to help you with ID.

I did get the guava info on the UF site...it actually sounded promising....The blueberry info, didn't rec: Star....and that just plain sux about the Kiwi...I got all excited when I saw them...I should have researched first, I should have known better then to expect Wally World to sell something that would actually grow here :( Oh well...we will try maybe we can have some luck with the Guava at least...it doesn't even mind wet feet....thats my kinda plant :) anyone else?? any experience? Poor DH, he planted two peach trees last spring and we are pretty sure they are not coming back....the citris tree croaked, but only the grafted section, the sour root lives on strongly :) At least his Loquats haven't let him down yet.....I'm gonna get him a Nectarine in spring...my friend's does fabulous down the street...that has to be a good sign....anything else you can suggest? He has NO luck with any citrus....after many attempts
