I saw my first female ruby throated hummingbird of the year yesterday. This made me very happy since last year I saw my first one ever in my garden, and proceeded to rip out half of my plants to make room for ones the hummers would like. Right now I have 3 kinds of Agastache blooming, as well as salvia black and blue, crocosmia, penstemon, stachys scarlet hedgenette, scarlet runner bean, and 4 types of bee balm- and thats justs whats blooming! Of course she is ignoring everything but my bee balm. I have Jacob Cline, Violet Queen, Gardenview Scarlet, and Marshall's Delight. I've noticed Marshall looses her flowers first, within a week, and I want to replace her. I want another that is in the pink family, due to its placement. My question, finally, is can anyone tell me about Rasberry Wine, Coral Reef, or Aquarius? I'm looking for one that keeps its flowers as long as the red varieties, so as not to disapoint the hummers- and bees, and butterflies. Any advice? Thanks!
