Yesterday afternoon I was on my back porch watering plants. This is where one of my hummer feeders hangs. A plump little hummer showed up, and I'm assuming it was young. I immediately noticed that he had one foot on the perch and the other foot was hanging off and trying to grasp, so I gently lifted my hand under his feet and he fluttered & hovered over to the next "flower." At this flower, he tried to put his feet ON the plastic flower petals instead of on the perch, so I slowly put my hand up toward him again. This time he hovered & then flew up to the wire above our sidewalk, and sat for about 10 min. Then he was gone.

What do you make of that?

BTW this feeder is made by Artline and the perches are single/independent of each other, not the continuous-loop kind infamous for trapping hummers.
