What do you all think if I tried an experiment with painting one of the fuscia Hummzinger feeders red.

I would do it with that plastic spray paint and then make sure it has a couple of coats of polyurethane so the paint doesn't chip.

Do you think this could harm the hummingbirds in any way if I do this and make sure it dries for a few days before hanging it back outside?
